Lowry Adams

Lowry is an LCSW and has been in the field for over a decade. Raised by a single mom outside of Washington DC, she graduated with her Bachelor's in Psychology from Centre College in Danville, KY, before getting her Masters in Social Work from University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Lowry has worked primarily with family and children in her career, with a focus on trauma and those with significant mental health struggles. She has worked in a variety of settings from community mental health, non-profit, foster care placements, and in-home services. Lowry also spent three years with child protective services in Louisville, working specifically on cases of severe physical abuse and sexual abuse, alongside police departments, and with the court system. Prior to coming to Bridge, she worked in an inpatient hospital setting with teenagers and their families, focusing on past trauma, mental health, and behavioral work. 

In therapy, Lowry enjoys using different types of therapeutic approaches, and when her clients bring new ideas to the table. Lowry also enjoys the use of music, toys, art, books, and movement in her therapy work, but is not afraid to provide a quiet place of solitude for her clients when they need it. 

When she is not working she is active in her Episcopal Church community, loves reading romantasy and sci-fi, hanging out with her three godkids, and knitting. She is a devoted cat-mom to her tabby Lyra, and also is a frequent renaissance faire attendee, so she loves to hear about the nerdy things her clients get excited about. She enjoys travel, especially to her family’s farm in Ontario.
