Courtney Lauver
LCSW
Therapist
Courtney Lauver (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with children, young adults and families in Louisville since 2019. She graduated with her MSW from Rutgers University and began her career in family preservation and foster care.
Courtney specializes in trauma, anxiety and big behaviors. She involves the whole family, rather than focusing solely on the designated client, because it is much easier to heal in community with others. Courtney’s therapeutic approach is creative, playful, and compassionate, no matter the age of the client. Courtney prioritizes building a trusting relationship with her clients, and making her space a comforting place for clients to express themselves however they need to. She also feels it is important to understand what is going on in our brains and bodies that may lead to some of the behaviors or feelings clients are experiencing.
Courtney is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and uses an eclectic approach to tailor treatment to each client’s needs. She also has a passion for educating the public about mental health through classes, social media, and her podcast, Mental Health Dumpster Fire.
Courtney also offers one-on-one parenting coaching sessions; you can learn more about this on our Services page.
