Austin Harthoorn

Austin Harthoorn (he/him) is a Certified Social Worker with a calling to help people reclaim their stories. He began his career as an economist before transitioning to social work, earning his Master of Social Work from the University of Denver and advanced training in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). He’s found joy in his experience meeting with a diverse range of people and accompanying each person on their unique journey.

Austin works from the belief that therapy is a collaborative process of self-discovery and empowerment. He draws from social constructionist approaches, inviting clients to rewrite the stories that no longer serve them and to move toward lives that feel aligned and authentic. He’s passionate about helping clients integrate their past, liberate their identities, and navigate the complex effects of institutionalized oppression. 

As a person-in-progress and therapy go-er himself, Austin knows the importance of a therapist you feel comfortable with and a space where you can beyou. He’s described by those he works with as calm, grounding, and deeply attuned—a therapist who truly listens and helps you hear yourself more clearly in the process. It’s his deepest commitment to create a space where every piece of your person can show up fully —messy, emotional, real, and whole.

Outside the therapy room, Austin loves the outdoors, values community and deep connection, and intentionally seeks out new experiences and perspectives that challenge him — both as a person and as your therapist.
