Our virtual therapy services bring our compassionate, expert therapy to the comfort of your own space. Embracing the power of technology, our online therapy sessions offer the same level of professional care and personal connection as our in-person services, making mental health support accessible wherever you are. Whether you're navigating life's challenges, seeking personal growth, or require flexible scheduling, our online platform provides a convenient, secure, and effective way to access a range of therapeutic services ensuring that distance is no barrier to your journey towards well-being.

What technology do I need to use teletherapy?

You will need a device capable of live video and/or audio streaming such as a smartphone, tablet/laptop, or a phone. After scheduling your first appointment, you will receive paperwork to sign electronically. Your therapist might reach out to you to complete additional intake paperwork. The video teleconferencing platform is HIPAA-compliant and allows you and your therapist to access video and audio conferencing for online sessions.

Who would benefit from teletherapy?

Teletherapy is typically done with people who are not currently in crisis. People who’ve recently had a suicide attempt or suicide plan, or those who might currently be a danger to themselves or others, should reach out to the Hope Now hotline (502-589-4313) to discuss a plan for more intensive treatment. Online/phone therapy has been successfully used to treat a variety of diagnoses, from anxiety and depression to trauma, addiction, and family difficulties. People who have scheduling difficulties or transportation issues also find telehealth/teletherapy a convenient alternative to having to schedule an office appointment.

I'm not currently in a crisis, but what if a crisis happens during my treatment?

During your first appointment, you and your therapist will create a crisis plan should you ever need it. This crisis plan includes a list of crisis resources in your area, a plan for support and access to crisis care, and a personalized list of steps that you and your therapist may use to help determine the best course of action for you should a crisis develop.

Is online therapy really as good as in-person?

Bridge Counseling and Wellness always prioritize the interaction and relationship between patients and therapists. Typically there is increased engagement with Telehealth/Teletherapy with patients under 30 since this generation has grown up with technology and are comfortable with it. The activities are no different from what the therapist would be doing with the patient in a traditional office setting. The therapist and client can always see each other live and on screen regardless of what activities they are doing if they choose to use video. Teletherapy has the added benefits of keeping any worksheets, training videos, messaging, and handouts in one convenient online location for easy access.

How do I know the teletherapist will be a good fit for my needs?

Teletherapists with Bridge Counseling and Wellness are talented professionals who are hand-selected and vetted for your unique needs. We practice a person-centered approach, meaning that we work on what you want to work on. Your goals and objectives come first. If what we’re doing doesn’t seem to be working for you, please let your therapist know and we will try a different approach. This also means that if, after a few sessions, you feel your therapist isn’t a good fit or that online therapy isn’t for you, we will be happy to refer you to another therapist who may be a better fit.
